The tamed box that Christians seek to put Christ in is the very box that limits their joy in seeing him do terrible things.  The Narnians had it right.  Whenever a Narnian tried to put Aslan in a tame box, or a box that dictated what Aslan could and could not do, they were admonished, “(Aslan’s) not a tame lion, but he is good.”  This is a lesson we all need to draw from as we look at promises like Matthew 24:14 and particularly Revelation 6:9-11. 

A couple of verses from Exodus may give some insight as to how God uses terrible things to increase our joy in him. (more…)
